Pilot project – mobile measuring of TV and radio audience in the CR in 2007

Pilot project was a part of the Project of Electronic Measurement of TV Audience in 2007 – 2012 and it was realized in cooperation with our partner research firms Median and Stem/Mark, which are currently carrying out the Radioprojekt (official measurement of radio audience in the CR).

During the pilot project we used newly developed mobile measuring technology ReMark, which identifies currently playing TV/radio station anywhere the person goes using a special identification mark included in the audio signal. This mark is not audible to people, but the device can register it. Several stations used marking in their broadcasting: 6 TV stations (ČT1, ČT2, ČT4 Sport, ČT24, NOVA, PRIMA) and 7 radio stations (Rádio Impuls, Frekvence 1, Evropa 2, Český rozhlas 1 – Radiožurnál, Český rozhlas 2 – Praha, Rádio Blaník a Fajn Rádio). Throughout the summer of 2007 tests of this technology and methodology were being carried out and the Pilot Project was concluded by several weeks of measuring on a selected group of respondents in October 2007.
